He looked around in desperate need for some alone space. His room is now occupied with restless prickly Raizada’s and he, now, isn’t ready yet to start his act before them. Not when he want to vent out the anger of his failure.
Perfectly devised plan, he was so close to getting
everything in his hand. Wealth, power and even Khushi-ji was coming in his
reach...oh but who is he kidddin'? But he lost it. All because of
who? Khushi-ji. The one he loves…no… lusts after.
That chit of a girl!
“Jijaji,” he jerked out
of his thoughts, and anger, with the voice coming from behind. HP! He closed his eyes trying to get his
expression under check before he turns around to face him.
What a pain in ass is this? Have to behave even before the servant of
this house.
“Woh…Didi utgayi. Nani-ji
aapko bulane keliye bole hain.” He revised like a parrot to Shyam who stood
raising his eyebrows in question.
“Hum aate hain.” Saying
Shyam went the opposite way of his room leaving a confused HP standing in the
hall way. With a shrug HP went inside the Kitchen to make milk for Anjali as
asked, or more like demanded, by Maami.

“Ch…Chotte?” Anjali’s
anxious gaze ran around the room trying to find her Chotte. Her mother’s heart
lurched at the thought of her baby brother being hurt. They are saying he’s
fine, but not until she sees for herself is she going to believe.
“Di, we’re here.” All
moved aside to see Arnav and Khushi along with NK standing at the threshold of
the room. His wounds, now cleaned, didn’t look as ugly and bloody as before.
"Chotte..." Anjali couldn't control the
tears that made their way down her cheeks and mixing into her tresses as she
tried to get up and out of her bed to take her Chotte into her arms. My Chotte! Her heart wept.
"Di...Di, don't!" he came running to her,
forcing her back onto the bed. Now placing himself beside her he wiped her
tears and caressed her cheek. Anjali could only cry seeing him.
“Di, I’m fine.” He said, even though he knows those
words wouldn’t convince her. If he know his sister any better he just have to
wait for more fussing that’s about to come.
“But Chotte, how did these all happen? You were…”
“Di, hush! You need rest right now. Please sleep.
We’ll talk about everything later. Promise!” he said earnestly trying to
convince her with his words. He know to console her. But that only stays for a
while until then she will be back to crying all over him. He sighed. He cannot
do much to change in that. In fact he doesn’t want to change anything in her.
His Di, her nature reminded him of his mother. That’s what he want and that’s
how he’ll cherish his Di.
She forgot all about her husband, who isn’t even in
the room right now, when she saw her brother beside her, trying to calm her
down. Like as if she’s the child and he’s the mother while in reality it should
happen the other way around.
“Maami-ji, doodh. Didi keliye.” HP interrupted the
chain of thoughts of the siblings passing the milk glass to Arnav’s extended
hand.
Helping Anjali sit straight he made her drink the
milk with his own hands not wanting her to protest on it. She’s too weak to
decline the food. And with doctor’s instructions they are now aware how she
needs to be looked after even more carefully.
“Your wounds,” Anjali asked once done with her
milk. She wasn’t in need of milk then, but when her brother had kept the glass
brim near her lips, silently asking her to drink, she could do nothing but
comply with his silent request. She saw, noticed, how his eyes held worry. She
saw the worry for her as much as she’s worried about him. And didn’t want to
dishearten him and completed the milk.
“They aren’t much Di. Khushi cleaned them while we
went to change.” He replied putting her worries to rest. Yes Khushi-ji is there
to take care of him. But Khushi-ji…
Something like a bulb went off in her mind and she
looked behind at her Bhabhi who stood behind everyone fidgeting with her dupatta
an expression of pain and something strange she couldn’t catch up on her face.
Anjali called her to come near them which Khushi did by coming and standing
beside Arnav.
“How did you get these bruises Khushi-ji? And you
have come in with Chotte. How...I mean how are you both here like this?” her
head swirled with many questions for which she didn’t have answers. She wanted
answers for all, but her brother is adamant. She should have known better
though, her Chotte and Khushi-ji always walk on the same path. If he didn’t
budge then Khushi wouldn’t too. Always following as her husband says. If only
she knew everything much better.
“Di, you should rest. We’ll…”
“Tell you everything later? Is it what you wanted
to tell?” Anjali asked rising her eyebrows mockingly. Khushi smiled bashfully
while Arnav looked away. He know what his Di is hinting at. As husband like
wife. Heard that somewhere? You wouldn’t. Because it is something only Anjali
could come up with.
“Kitne cute ho tum dono,” Anjali pinched her
Chotte’s cheeks, who let out a ‘what the…’, and threw a naughty smile at her
Bhabhi who turned even redder if that’s anywhere possible. Anjali felt her
insides settle down. Finally she could make them all smile.

He sat on the poolside recliner staring at the
stars in the black and blue sky above, his gaze unnerving. His thoughts
scrambled, those he couldn't place perfectly together.
12 days!
It was while tucking in Khushi, who was adamant on
not going to sleep.
~
"Hume nehi sona Arnav-ji," she stood firm
on her word her face twisted into a cute determined frown.
"Khushi, you must be tired. Zid mat karo.
Please sleep." He said, a comforting hand on her cheek, not having an
inkle of idea why she doesn't want to sleep.
"You aren't?" His face was an evidence of
his confusion. Seeing him she clarified. "Aren't you tired?"
"Yes, I am." He admitted. "But I'll
sleep a little later. You should sleep Khushi," he almost pleaded but what
came next ignited mixed emotions in his body he wasn't able to comprehend.
"Nehi. If I sleep, then you'll again go away.
Then this will all be a dream and I'll be crying again tomorrow morning when I
wake up," she said it so seriously if in any other situation people would
have laughed. But Arnav only felt his eyes getting moist.
He was genuinely touched by her confession and at
the same time remorseful. What are the problems had he not caused for the girl
before him? And still after all this she is afraid of losing him? Again? Love
does play interesting games.
Reasoning to her, making her understand that this
is all real and finally giving her a pinch on her hand to make her believe that
it’s all real, he lulled her to sleep before coming out to the poolside to
think.
And before he was coming out of the room, to his
poolside, to spend time bathing in his guilt that is when he saw the
date. It’s August 1st.
~
First he didn't give much thought to the date. But
when he kept pondering on the happenings in his and Khushi's life it struck him
like a lightening. It's only 12 days away from the end of the contract.
Their already incomplete marriage will be broken
completely in 12 days. He did prepare real contract papers and according to
those his marriage is going to end in 12 days.
He felt panic raising in him. How could he be so
negligent? How could he forget about the contract? Not until he registers the
marriage officially in the court will they be bonded together as husband and
wife in the eyes of the society. Husband and wife in true sense in the eyes of
law. Husband and wife in true sense in front of their family.
Yes. He want that. He want to claim Khushi as his
and only his. He may have looked mellowed down, but he still carried the
possessive instinct in him. If it is his, then it will be his. He don't like
sharing what belongs to him.
And only when the marriage is official will he at
least be able to look into her eyes without the pain and guilt hanging down his
neck. Yes he'll do anything for that to not happen. Any damn thing!
His brain instantly worked with thoughts knowing
well that whatever has to be done, should be done in 12 days. If he wastes
these days then he for sure will be in a trouble to get what he want. And Arnav
Singh Raizada never leaves what he wants.
Now he wants Khushi. He need her to be his. If
being his wife is what approves her of his love towards her, then he'll do just
that.
Truth be said, Arnav never imagined Khushi to be
his without a marriage. Maybe it's her tradition and values or her respect
towards marriage that changed him, but he know marriage is the bond that will keep
them together till eternity.
So marriage it is!
I'm going to right my wrong now Khushi.

Hmm...Arnav has already started to think on mending his relation with Khushi. So Marriage it is...but how's it going to be??
